Josh Ewing was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Feb. 27, 1983, and lived there for two years before his family moved to Sarasota, Florida. He began taking piano lessons at the age of nine and progressed at an astonishing speed. By the time he was sixteen he was receiving college level instruction at Manatee Community College. After graduating high school, he continued his music and liberal arts training and received his A.A. degree.
Josh has received many awards, including many Superior ratings from competitions around the area. He also received an Artist Merit Award for performing at Florida State in January 2005. While at college, Josh was selected to be in the Florida Community College Music Academic Team two years in a row.
Other than being a classically trained pianist, Josh improvises, composes and plays the drums, guitar, bass guitar, and sings. He also recently completed his third album with his brother Chris.
Josh plays and performs around the area at different events and churches. He is also one of the worship leaders at his church, and has been playing with the praise team since he was twelve years old.
Josh taught at Eastside Music Academy for six months before acquiring the business in the summer of 2006. Since then he has been working hard at continuing the quality of instruction at Eastside, as well as instilling the knowledge and experience into his students.
Josh is 25 years old, and resides in Sarasota, FL
